Speech processing

Only 90% of a doctor's medical correspondence can be automatically generated by software. The other 10% still have to be composed by medical personnel because of their complexity. Theses letters still have to be typed in by hand.

Therefore in a modern medical practice, the use of digital speech applications is particularly useful. Compared it to conventional dictating equipment, a digital system offers a number of advantages:

Dictating machine Speech processing - Cassette  The dictation is always dependent on a medium.  + File  The dictation is saved as a File and can not only be edited at your workstation, but also in the network. This increases your flexibility. - Analog recording  The recording medium becomes worn and the quality declines.  + Digital recording  There is no loss in quality due to the digital nature of recording.  - No insertion  If a passage has to be inserted into a given dictation, the text after the passage has to be dictated again.  + Insertion  You can insert a text of any lenght anywhere in the dictation.  - Extra device  You need a mechanical device which is susceptible to failure. + Dictating machine build in the computer  A computer with multimedia features has most of the necessary components. If you want to increase ease of use you might wish to purchase additional peripherals.
